This concurrent resolution establishes the Rural Health Transformation Task Force, a body tasked with addressing significant health disparities in rural Kentucky, where residents often travel further for care, face hospital closures, and experience higher rates of chronic diseases and maternal care deserts. The task force, composed of appointed members from both the Senate and House of Representatives, will identify ways to expand healthcare services, increase providers and facilities, and improve the physical and mental health of rural Kentuckians, while also examining funding and sustainability plans for these initiatives. The task force is directed to meet monthly during the 2026 legislative interim and submit recommendations by December 1, 2026, though the Legislative Research Commission has the authority to reassign these duties or adjust the study's completion date.
