This bill amends Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 218B.010 to expand the list of qualifying medical conditions for which medicinal cannabis can be recommended. Specifically, it adds Crohn's disease, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, Parkinson's disease, sickle cell disease, and any terminal illness as defined in KRS 217.5401 to the existing list, which already includes conditions like cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The bill also clarifies that any other medical condition or disease for which sufficient scientific data demonstrates potential medical, therapeutic, or palliative benefits from medicinal cannabis, as determined by the Kentucky Center for Cannabis or its successor, will also be considered a qualifying condition.
