This bill establishes a working group to study Connecticut's Workers' Compensation Act, specifically sections 31-275 to 31-355b of the general statutes, which outline the laws governing workplace injuries and compensation. The purpose of this study is to identify and recommend any necessary changes to these existing provisions. The working group will be comprised of six members, each appointed by a different legislative leader: the Speaker of the House, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the Majority Leaders of both the House and Senate, and the Minority Leaders of both the House and Senate. These members are expected to have knowledge and experience with the Workers' Compensation Act. The group is required to submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly's joint standing committees on the judiciary and labor by January 1, 2027, and will cease to exist on the date it submits this report or on January 1, 2027, whichever is later.
