This bill amends Delaware law concerning life insurance policies by reducing the period during which an insurer can deny coverage for suicide from two years to one year from the policy's issue date, and this change will apply to policies issued on or after the act's effective date. Furthermore, if a death benefit is denied due to suicide within this one-year period, the insurance company must refund all premiums paid for the coverage that provided the denied death benefit. The bill also makes minor technical corrections to existing language regarding legal action timelines and exclusions for death resulting from war, aviation, hazardous occupations, or residency outside of continental United States and Canada.
