This bill requires the Minnesota Secretary of State to provide voter and election data to any agency or department of the federal government upon request, overriding existing state laws that might otherwise restrict such disclosures, including those related to data privacy (chapter 13) and voter registration (chapter 201). Specifically, the Secretary of State must furnish all data from the statewide voter registration system, which includes not only registered voters but also individuals who attempted to register but were unsuccessful, those whose registration is no longer current, and those who registered but never voted. This data must be provided within 180 days of the request or 90 days before the next scheduled election, whichever comes first. This provision is intended to facilitate federal oversight or engagement with election processes and will be effective immediately upon enactment for any data requests made thereafter.
