This concurrent resolution recognizes and celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP), a program established in 2005 by the Tennessee General Assembly and managed by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. Originally created to help farmers adapt and diversify after the federal tobacco program ended, TAEP provides strategic cost-share assistance, reimbursing approved applicants for 50% of eligible expenses up to program maximums, encouraging significant investments in farm operations. The program supports a wide range of agricultural areas, from livestock and crop production to diversification into agritourism and value-added enterprises, and has funded over 97,000 projects totaling more than $309 million, generating an estimated $2 billion economic impact for rural communities, demonstrating the state's commitment to agricultural advancement and heritage.
