This bill establishes a Task Force on Women's Medical Procedural Pain to collect and analyze data on painful medical procedures affecting women, such as cesarean sections, cervical biopsies, endometrial biopsies, intrauterine device (IUD) insertion and removal, and hysteroscopies. The task force, to be appointed by the commissioner of health by July 31, 2026, will include physicians, pain management professionals, women who have experienced such pain, and representatives from the Department of Health and the Board of Medical Practice. Its duties include assessing ways to minimize these procedures or find alternatives, and it must submit a report with findings and recommendations to the legislature by January 1, 2028, after which it will expire.
