This bill appropriates $5,000,000 from the general fund to the commissioner of children, youth, and families for supplemental grants to existing youth intervention programs in fiscal year 2027, with up to ten percent of the funds allowed for administrative costs. These supplemental grants, which are a one-time appropriation and cannot exceed $50,000 per recipient, are intended to help programs address immediate or emerging needs for early interventions to support youth who have experienced trauma, and are specifically for grantees from the most recent grant cycle who must submit a work plan outlining these needs. Importantly, certain existing requirements for these grants, specifically subdivisions 2 and 3 of Minnesota Statutes, section 142A.43, will not apply to these supplemental awards.
