This resolution honors and commends the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG) on the occasion of its sixty-ninth annual meeting, which is being held in Chattanooga, Tennessee, marking the first time the organization has hosted its annual meeting in the state. The AEG, founded in 1957 and incorporated in 1963, is recognized for its leadership, advocacy, and applied research in environmental and engineering geology, fields that benefit the public by assessing natural hazards, protecting the environment, remediating contamination, and supporting the design and construction of engineered works. The resolution welcomes attendees to Tennessee and salutes the AEG and its members for their dedication to scientific inquiry regarding geologic processes and human interaction with the earth.
