This bill establishes the Louisiana Commission on Fatherhood Engagement within the office of the governor, composed of various state officials, legislative members, judicial representatives, and community leaders, to promote and support fathers' involvement in their children's lives. The commission's duties include implementing recommendations from previous task forces, raising awareness about fatherhood resources and challenges, identifying funding for fatherhood programs, and assisting in initiatives that promote responsible fatherhood, build parenting skills, provide employment services, support incarcerated or recently released fathers, reconcile families, and improve data collection and policies related to fathers. The commission will also organize a state summit on fatherhood every four years and submit annual reports to the legislature detailing program outcomes and funding requests. This commission is set to terminate on January 1, 2030.
