This bill allows a party who is negatively affected by a decision from the court of appeals, the state's highest court, to ask that court to reconsider its decision if a new law passed by the legislature appears to contradict the court's ruling and the original case hasn't been completely finalized. If the court finds the request has merit, it will allow both sides to present full arguments and present their case again, specifically focusing on whether the court should change its original decision due to the new law. This process also allows the court to consider legal questions that might not have been addressed before, even if they were previously overlooked. Such a request must be filed within ninety days of the new law being enacted or the bill becoming law, whichever is later.
