This joint resolution honors Run for the Wall Week in Tennessee from May 13-23, 2026, recognizing the annual "Run for the Wall" event which began in 1989 with motorcyclists traveling to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness for prisoners of war/missing in action (POW/MIA) from all wars. The event, which empowers participants to "ride for those who can't," promotes healing for veterans and their families, calls for accountability of all POW/MIAs, honors those killed in action, and supports current military personnel. This year, over 750 riders will pass through Tennessee communities, veteran memorials, and VA facilities on their journey to Washington, D.C., and then to the Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles, Illinois, with specific overnight stops planned in Cookeville and Chattanooga, and the resolution expresses gratitude to the organizers and participants for their mission of remembrance and awareness.
