This bill, titled the "Original Legislation to Give TSA Employees a Raise," proposes to increase the annual rate of basic pay for career employees of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) by 15 percent. This increase will apply to both individual career employees and the pay bands established under the TSA Core Compensation System. A "career employee" is defined as a TSA agent or officer who is not a senior executive, a career appointee, or a senior career employee, as these terms are defined in existing law. The pay raise will take effect starting with the first pay period that begins on or after the bill is enacted, and will continue until the beginning of the second pay period after the bill's enactment.
