This bill directs the commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation to create and publish an annual report on the state's environmental radiation surveillance program, making it freely available online. This report will analyze trends and the cumulative impact of radioactive releases or disposals, using information gathered under specific state regulations (6 NYCRR 380). In collaboration with the Department of Health, the report will also trigger notifications to other relevant agencies if contamination levels exceed the maximum allowable amounts for drinking water or food, as set by state and federal law, including standards from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
