This Resolution rescinds the authorization for Arkansas Girls State to use the Chamber of the House of Representatives for its 2026 meeting, and also prohibits them from using the bill drafting services of the Bureau of Legislative Research during that same meeting. This action is a consequence of administrative oversights that led to some qualified young women being denied participation in Arkansas Girls State, a program that promotes civic engagement and leadership for young women. However, this resolution will be reversed, and the previous authorization for the Chamber and bill drafting services will be restored if the American Legion Auxiliary, the organization responsible for Arkansas Girls State, allows the denied young women to participate in their 2026 meeting. The House of Representatives strongly encourages the American Legion Auxiliary to reconsider any decision that would exclude these deserving students.
