This bill increases the volume cap on wine that a direct shipper, which is a licensed entity that sells wine directly to consumers, can ship to consumers in Michigan from 1,500 nine-liter cases to 9,000 nine-liter cases, or from 13,500 liters to 81,000 liters annually. If multiple direct shippers are commonly managed or owned by the same entity, their combined shipments are also capped at 81,000 liters. This change aims to expand the options for consumers to receive wine directly from producers.
