This bill re-enacts certain chapters of title 45 of the General Laws, which relate to towns and cities, and makes various technical edits throughout the general laws. Specifically, it updates language in sections concerning budget commissions, relief for injured firefighters and police officers, retirement of municipal employees, redevelopment agencies, uniform relocation payments, school building authority capital funds, water districts, residential contractor licensing, deceptive trade practices, consumer access to powered wheelchair repairs, veterans' protection, credit card crime, school bus safety, and public records administration. The bill also amends provisions related to the Rhode Island Life Science Hub, workers' compensation, the Health Professional Loan Repayment Program, nursing home patient rights, the state building code, the Rhode Island Kratom Act, currency transmissions, and housing production and preservation. Article I of the bill takes effect on December 31, 2026, and Article II takes effect upon passage.
