This bill appropriates $1,000,000 from the state's general fund in fiscal year 2027 to the commissioner of health, who will then provide this money as a grant to West Central Dental Resources, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, for the purpose of furnishing and equipping a critical access dental clinic located in the city of Alexandria. A critical access dental clinic is a facility designed to provide essential dental services in areas that may have limited access to care. This appropriation is a one-time allocation and will remain available until the project is finished or canceled, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642, which governs capital project appropriations. The provisions of this section will take effect the day after the bill is officially enacted into law.
