This Joint Resolution formally honors and commends Wes Fountain on his retirement, effective July 1, 2026, after a distinguished thirty-six-year career with HCA Healthcare, a major American healthcare and hospital management company. Starting his career as a staff accountant, Mr. Fountain rose through the ranks to serve as a chief financial officer, or CFO—the corporate executive responsible for managing an organization's finances—for multiple hospitals and divisions across several states, eventually leading the financial operations of HCA Healthcare's TriStar Division. Throughout his career, he achieved historic financial milestones, oversaw approximately $1.9 billion in capital investments to improve healthcare infrastructure, helped secure Tennessee's Directed Payment Program to broaden patient access to care, and successfully integrated TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, leaving behind a lasting legacy of strong leadership and community service for which the Tennessee General Assembly extends its congratulations and best wishes.
