This Joint Resolution proposes an amendment to the Tennessee Constitution that would require the General Assembly—the state’s legislature—to draw the boundaries for congressional districts only after the completion of each decennial census, which is the official population count conducted by the United States government every ten years. Furthermore, the measure stipulates that once these congressional districts are established following the census, their boundaries cannot be altered again until the next decennial census occurs.
