This Joint Resolution officially honors and congratulates Willis Jepson for being named the 2026 Tennessee Farmer of the Year for the Middle Tennessee region, an award recognizing exceptional agricultural leadership, business management, and community service presented by the University of Tennessee Extension (an organization providing educational and community outreach programs) in coordination with the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation (a large grassroots organization supporting farmers and rural communities). As the seventh generation of his family to farm their historic land since 1806, Mr. Jepson operates a diverse family farm producing a wide variety of crops such as corn, soybeans, wheat, tobacco, canola, watermelons, and pumpkins, with specific outputs supporting livestock feed, ethanol, seed production, flour, and advanced biofuels.
