This bill requires the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJT), referred to as "the corporation," to regularly publish performance data for its various services on its website. Specifically, NJT must provide monthly updates on rail passenger service, including the number and causes of cancellations (such as issues with Amtrak, crew availability, unavoidable incidents, infrastructure problems, and network delays), on-time performance, and the "mean distance between failure," which is the average distance vehicles travel before needing repairs. Similar monthly performance reports will be required for light rail service, motorbus regular route service (including specific terminal performance), and Access Link service, which is a paratransit service for individuals with disabilities. The Commissioner of Transportation can also require NJT to publish any other information deemed necessary to inform commuters about service performance. This reporting requirement is in addition to NJT's existing duty to provide annual reports on rail passenger service performance.
