AN ACT To amend Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to elections and primaries generally, so as to establish the Election Equipment Specifications and Standards Committee to prepare recommendations for the specifications, standards, and requirements for a new uniform system of election equipment; to provide for membership and duties; to provide for input from subject matter experts; to provide for reporting; to provide for the extent to which the Secretary of State is authorized to provide for the selection, certification, or procurement of the new uniform system of election equipment; to declare certain actions void and ultra vires; to provide for input from certain stakeholders; to authorize per diems and expenses; to provide for automatic repeal; to establish provisions related to mandatory recounts of votes in certain circumstances; to provide for the state to reimburse the costs of such recounts; to authorize grants to counties; to revise provisions related to selected contests subject to risk-limiting audits; to amend an Act relating to elections and primaries approved May 6, 2024 (Ga. L. 2024, p. 1028), SB 189, so as to revise an effective date; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
