This bill establishes an Office of Inspector General within the Citizen's Property Insurance Corporation to promote accountability, integrity, and efficiency, with an inspector general appointed by and removable by the Financial Services Commission, who will report to the chair of the board of governors and conduct audits, investigations, and reviews of management practices, compliance, and program effectiveness, including allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and employee misconduct, and will cooperate with the corporation's internal auditor and report criminal violations to law enforcement. The bill also requires the corporation's internal auditor to cooperate with this new inspector general and mandates that corporation employees report suspected employee fraud to the Office of Inspector General, replacing the previous requirement to report to the Internal Auditor.
