This bill aims to revert specific provisions of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA) to their original wording from before the USA PATRIOT Act was enacted in 2001. Specifically, it seeks to remove the extended "sunset dates," which are deadlines after which certain provisions would expire unless renewed. The bill proposes that provisions related to court orders for electronic surveillance of foreign powers or their agents, originally set to revert on June 1, 2015, should now read as they did on October 25, 2001.
