This bill amends Florida Statute 212.08 to adjust tax exemptions for aircraft repair and maintenance. Specifically, it lowers the maximum certified takeoff weight threshold for rotary wing aircraft (helicopters) to qualify for tax exemptions on labor charges for repair and maintenance, as well as on replacement engines, parts, and equipment used in such repairs. Previously, the exemption for rotary wing aircraft had a higher weight requirement of 10,000 pounds for labor and 10,300 pounds for parts and equipment; this bill changes that to a uniform 2,000 pounds maximum certified takeoff weight for both types of aircraft, making more helicopters eligible for these tax breaks.
