This bill amends Florida Statutes section 489.111 to revise the eligibility requirements for taking the swimming pool/spa servicing contractor's licensure examination. Previously, applicants needed to have completed 60 hours of approved instruction and at least one year of proven experience related to the scope of work. This bill removes the experience requirement and adds a new requirement of 20 hours of in-field, hands-on instruction, also approved by the Construction Industry Licensing Board. The purpose of this change is to adjust the qualifications needed for individuals seeking to become licensed swimming pool and spa servicing contractors.
