This bill requires retailers and manufacturers that do business in Florida to disclose their efforts to prevent human trafficking, slavery, and exploitive labor within their supply chains, which are the networks of businesses involved in creating and delivering products. These businesses must either post this disclosure on their website through a clear link on their homepage or provide it in writing if a consumer requests it and they don't have a website. The disclosure must detail how they verify their supply chains, audit suppliers for compliance with anti-trafficking standards, require suppliers to certify their compliance with labor laws, maintain internal accountability for employees who fail to meet these standards, and train relevant staff on these issues. Violations can lead to legal action by the Attorney General, potentially resulting in court orders to stop the violation or the removal of state funds from the offending company. The Department of Revenue will also report annually on companies that have had state funds divested due to non-compliance.
