This bill amends Section 6 of Chapter 44B of the General Laws, which pertains to community preservation funds. Specifically, it removes the word "and" from line 6 and inserts new language after the word "housing" in line 7. This inserted language establishes a requirement for coastal communities that adopt the provisions of this act to allocate at least 10 percent of their community preservation funds towards the preservation of public infrastructure. This preservation can be achieved through activities such as beach nourishment, dune restoration, and the maintenance and reconstruction of seawalls, which are protective barriers against coastal erosion and flooding.
