This bill proposes changes to the membership of several licensing boards within Chapter 13 of the General Laws, aiming to increase the number of members on these boards and to include more individuals with vocational-technical backgrounds. Specifically, it increases the total number of members on certain boards, such as the Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors (from 17 to 19) and the Board of Registration of Plumbers and Gas Fitters (from 9 to 11), and also expands the composition of these boards. For instance, the Board of Registration of Plumbers and Gas Fitters will now include a vocational-technical plumbing educator or administrator nominated by the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators, and a licensed plumber nominated by the Massachusetts Building Trades Council.
