This bill proposes to create a new tax exemption for taxpayers who support an elderly relative, allowing for an additional $3,500 exemption if the taxpayer provided over half of the support for a relative who is at least 70 years old, lived with the taxpayer for more than eight months of the tax year, and the taxpayer's adjusted gross income (total income after certain deductions) is $60,000 or less for that year.
