This bill allows the Registrar of Motor Vehicles, the state official responsible for vehicle registration, to issue special "Support Our Troops" license plates for private passenger vehicles. These plates will feature a yellow ribbon and eagle design, along with the words "Support Our Troops," to honor and support currently serving military personnel. In addition to the standard registration fee, there will be a minimum charge of twenty dollars for these distinctive plates, payable at the time of registration and renewal. After covering the costs associated with producing and issuing these plates, the remaining funds will be deposited into the state's General Fund and allocated to specific budget items numbered 1410-0010 through 1410-0630 within 90 days of collection.
