This bill modifies existing Massachusetts law regarding motor vehicle registration applications to require more specific information depending on the applicant's status. For corporations, sole proprietorships, or other business entities, applications must now include their full name and complete address, including street, city, state, and zip code. If the owner is a sole proprietorship, they must also provide their Social Security number and, if applicable, their Employer Identification Number or Federal Tax Identification Number. For individual applicants, the application will need their name, full residential address (including apartment or unit number if applicable), date of birth, and their driver's license or identification card number. The bill also mandates that individual applicants must hold a valid license, an identification card, or a Social Security number, though it allows for regulatory exemptions for specific groups like out-of-state students, military personnel, senior citizens, and disabled persons. Additionally, all applicants must provide a description of the vehicle, confirm under penalty of perjury that there are no outstanding excise tax liabilities, and pay the required registration fee.
