This bill mandates that any public transit provider operating under Massachusetts General Laws Chapters 161A or 161B must grant their commercial motor vehicle operators an appropriate rest period to use a restroom. An "appropriate rest period" is defined as at least ten minutes for every four hours or major part thereof worked in a single shift, without any reduction in pay. The bill also clarifies that employers and employees can agree to different rest period arrangements through a collective bargaining agreement.
