This bill requires any "entity," which broadly includes various business structures like corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies, as well as quasi-governmental organizations, to publicly disclose when it receives "financial support" from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Financial support is defined as funds received through appropriations, capital bonds, grants over $10,000, funds from trusts where the Commonwealth acts as a fiduciary, or tax credits totaling at least $100,000 in a fiscal year. This disclosure must be printed on the entity's letterhead and all other public materials, and prominently displayed on its website, at a minimum acknowledging that the entity receives financial support from the Commonwealth.
