This bill proposes to amend Massachusetts General Laws by adding a new section that establishes specific penalties for breaking and entering into buildings where firearm retailers, wholesalers, or manufacturers operate. It outlines three distinct offenses: first, simply breaking and entering such a building, which carries a penalty of a fine between $5,000 and $10,000, imprisonment for five to ten years, or both; second, breaking and entering with the intent to unlawfully obtain firearms or ammunition, which carries the same penalties as the first offense; and third, unlawfully obtaining firearms or ammunition through breaking and entering and then unlawfully distributing them, which carries a more severe penalty of a fine of at least $10,000, imprisonment for ten to twenty years, or both. These penalties apply regardless of whether the breaking and entering occurs during the nighttime or daytime.
