This bill authorizes the City of Pittsfield to prohibit heavy commercial vehicles, meaning large trucks and similar vehicles, from traveling on specific sections of Highland Avenue and/or Pecks Road, starting from the town line with Lanesborough up to where these roads meet Valentine Road. This restriction is being put in place despite any existing general laws that might otherwise allow such travel, and it includes exceptions for vehicles belonging to or working for the City of Pittsfield, public service or utility corporations performing contractual work, emergency vehicles like police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, and vehicles involved in mail delivery.
