This bill amends existing Wyoming law to prohibit the use of drones for harassing, pursuing, hunting, shooting, or killing any wildlife, except for predatory animals. It also makes it illegal to use a drone to aid in taking wildlife, whether by spotting, locating, communicating with hunters, or providing other assistance. The bill clarifies that this prohibition applies to drones in the same way it applies to aircraft and other motorized vehicles. However, it includes an exception for governmental agencies, their employees, contractors, or designees who are performing lawful duties, and also allows the Game and Fish Commission to exempt handicapped hunters. This new legislation is set to take effect on July 1, 2014.
