Consequently, the terms "freeholder" and "chosen freeholder," referring to the individual members of this board, can be changed to "county commissioner." If a county chooses to make these title changes, they must update all new resolutions, letterhead, and other official supplies to reflect the new titles, though they are not required to retroactively change older documents. Furthermore, any county that adopts these new titles must post this change on its official website within 45 days of passing the resolution to do so.
