This bill prohibits individuals who are required to register as sex offenders under New Jersey law (P.L.1994, c.133, which establishes the sex offender registry) and who have committed a sex offense against a victim under 18 years old from working or volunteering at amusement parks or selling items from frozen dessert trucks. An amusement park is defined by law as a place with rides and attractions, and a frozen dessert truck is a vehicle selling ice cream and similar treats. Violating this prohibition is considered a fourth-degree crime, a less serious felony offense in New Jersey. The law will become effective three months after it is enacted.
