This bill amends existing law to limit the transportation costs for school districts that send students to county vocational school districts located outside of their home county. Specifically, it states that the sending school district is responsible for transporting these students, but only if the lowest bid for transportation does not exceed a specific per-pupil cost, which is determined by a separate law (N.J.S.18A:39-1a). If the transportation bid is higher than this established cost, the parent or guardian of the student becomes eligible to receive an amount equal to that established cost to help cover transportation expenses.
