This bill establishes a special license plate for "100 percent disabled veterans," defined as honorably discharged veterans who have been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as having a 100% disability. The Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission will issue these plates, which will display "100 Percent Disabled Veteran" and a chosen symbol, at no cost to the veteran. Holders of these plates will receive the same handicapped parking privileges and benefits as those with existing disabled veteran license plates or placards. The bill also clarifies that these plates are non-transferable and misuse will result in revocation of benefits, and mandates that the Motor Vehicle Commission inform motorists about the availability of these plates.
