This bill, known as the School District 318 Land Exchange Act, directs the Secretary of the Interior to facilitate an exchange of land between Minnesota Independent School District number 318 (referred to as the "District") and the United States. Specifically, the Secretary must accept an offer from the District to transfer approximately 1.6 acres of non-federal land, including any structures on it, to the United States. In return, the Secretary will convey approximately 1.3 acres of federal land, identified as U.S. Geological Survey land, to the District. This exchange aims to improve safety for students at Robert J. Elkington Middle School and support the mission of the U.S. Geological Survey. The value of both parcels of land will be determined by an independent appraiser, and if their values are not equal, a cash payment will be made to equalize the exchange, with any received cash deposited into the Treasury.
