This bill extends the federal immigration law transition period for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth in the western Pacific, until December 31, 2019. This extension, amending Public Law 94-241, means that the existing rules regarding the number of nonimmigrant workers, or temporary foreign workers, who can be admitted to the islands will continue to be in effect and will be reduced annually until the new expiration date.
