Prohibits such health care provisions from being construed to preempt any state or common law governing medical professional or medical product liability actions or claims.

AI Summary

This bill, titled the Standard of Care Protection Act of 2014, clarifies that any guidelines or standards developed under federal healthcare laws, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (often called Obamacare), the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, and Medicare and Medicaid provisions of the Social Security Act, will not be interpreted to set the legal standard of care for healthcare providers in medical malpractice or product liability cases. It explicitly states that these federal provisions will not override or replace the standards of care already established by state laws or common law, ensuring that state-level regulations continue to govern these types of legal actions.
