This bill allows specific changes, referred to as "the Amendment," to an existing agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom concerning cooperation on the peaceful use of atomic energy for mutual defense to be put into effect without fully completing the usual congressional review process required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954. The Atomic Energy Act of 1954 is a U.S. law that governs nuclear energy. Despite bypassing the standard review, once these amendments are enacted, they will still be subject to all the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 and any other relevant U.S. laws, as if the full review process had been followed.
