This Memorial establishes a parental paid-leave working group, tasked with developing recommendations for a state-sponsored program that provides paid leave to parents for childbirth, adoption, or fostering. The group, convened by the University of New Mexico's bureau of business and economic research and composed of experts in various fields, will also explore the creation of a publicly managed fund for this leave, accessible to both private and public employees and employers.
