This bill mandates the creation of a nonpartisan voter education program for high school seniors in Texas, to be developed by the secretary of state in collaboration with the commissioner of education. The program will cover essential voting information, including the importance of voting, how to register and cast a ballot using common voting systems, election dates, polling hours, early voting, and how to find one's correct polling location. Crucially, the program will also provide an opportunity for students to fill out voter registration forms during the presentation. The bill also allows for county clerks or their designees to present this program annually at public or private high schools during regular school hours, upon request from school administrators.
