AI Summary

This bill amends Mississippi law to allow parents or guardians to obtain exemptions from required vaccinations for their school-aged children for either medical reasons or conscientious beliefs. For medical exemptions, a child's physician must provide a statement indicating the vaccine is medically contraindicated or poses a significant risk to the child or their household. For exemptions based on conscientious beliefs, parents or guardians must complete an affidavit provided by the State Department of Health, acknowledging understanding of vaccination benefits and risks, and specifying which vaccines they are exempting. Both types of exemptions are valid for one year.
