Additionally, it amends Title 37 of the U.S. Code, which deals with pay and allowances, and clarifies that any other references to the Department of the Navy in laws, regulations, or documents will now be understood as referring to the newly named Department of the Navy and Marine Corps. The changes will take effect on the first day of the month following 60 days after the bill is enacted.
